>Maybe not smart enough to actually reason it out, but perhaps more lucky or just more able to solve it by trial-and-error?
you don't luck yourself through the tile puzzles. Trial and error won't work because the way Claude's "brain" works is he can only see screenshots in small intervals. Once his character is moving, he has no idea what the fuck is going on and can only see a screenshot of where it went.

Rocket Hideout was one of those things in twitch plays pokemon where they had to introduce democracy because the "chaos" was not working i.e. random inputs. Claude might as well be that chaos because he's still not going to be able to rationalize what tile takes him where.

NTA but I predicted Rocket Hideout would be the trve end for Claude and I was fully convinced he would clear Rock tunnel in a few days, and he did.

The reason why this is different is because of the conveyors, which is infinitely more difficult than Mt. Moon, Cerulean City, SS Anne, Rock Tunnel, Route 9 entrance, Cutting out of Surge's gym, etc etc combined. If he can somehow get through this, then I think he'll be fine till Safari Zone. But realistically this is where the run dies, and you could tell by watching how hard Gemini Plays had to handhold him through this part in particular. He was scrambling to get him through this shit lol. It's near impossible for an AI to figure out on their own without a ton of scaffolding/cheating. Rock tunnel is piss easy in comparison and I always knew he would clear it, flash or not. Just being realistic here.
