>>717729780its not an AI.
real AI don't exist.
its an LLM.
from the ground up LLM's are made more to carry on a conversation, not play a game.
every other AI you will see playing pokemon has a bunch of custom programming to help it understand the game its playing.
Claude is barebones in comparison, which is why its so funny.
>He doesn't have a live view of the game, he gets to take screenshots periodically that he struggles to interpret because AI don't do well with low resolution images.>he gets raw RAM data on his party, text from dialogue boxes, and inventory to avoid complete retardation on what he has on him>he gets a limited nav system to make sure he can at least tell what is a solid wall, but he can end up blindly trusting it like a driver trusting early satnav in their cars

Rocket Hideout was one of those things in twitch plays pokemon where they had to introduce democracy because the "chaos" was not working i.e. random inputs. Claude might as well be that chaos because he's still not going to be able to rationalize what tile takes him where.

>>717737365Yeah but none of those puzzles are anywhere close to the challenge that is Rocket Hideout. He'll bang his head against the wall there for the rest of his life. This is one better, but it's not that smart.
I correctly predicted Claude Jr would clear SS Anne, and would get to Surge, but would NOT find his way to rock tunnel. At the time, many people didn't even think he would be able to reboard the SS anne, let alone get into Surge's gym. After he did that and surprised everyone, people seemed to think the sky was the limit. But I knew he was not going to be able to figure out what to do next, and he never did.
With the next Claude, I could tell based on his pace and his better problem solving skills, this would likely be the one that actually cuts over to route 9 and gets through rock tunnel (without flash). Many people did NOT think that was going to happen. He did, despite the doubters. I KNEW Rocket Hideout was going to be the end of that run because it is immensely more complex than any other dungeon or puzzle in the game, especially any challenge Claude has had to deal with at this time.
Going from 4.0 to 4.1 simply isn't going to be enough to get him through Rocket Hideout. He's going to need like a galaxy brain update to get through, and I just don't think we're anywhere close to that. Just my opinion, but it's based on the difficulty of each challenge and how I measure his current reasoning. It's better, but it's still not good enough. I would love to be proven wrong and see Claude actually get through though. Maybe, just maybe.
>>717737623Nope, and he didn't need last time. Wont need it this time. Rock Tunnel is pretty easy even without flash, easier than Mt. Moon even.
What did he mean by this?
>>717738025I believe you are right in the sense of him not being smart enough for Rocket Hideout, but I'm not excluding somehow just doing the correct sequence with enough context to at least remember a few wrong moves, and some luck.
It's hardly impossible, we have seen this happen many times with the early versions especially.

Claude mistakes Geodude for Machop. Context clean time
>>717738115The problem with that is Claude has to get lucky a number of times. There are two floors with two huge spin tile puzzles. Say he clears one by pure luck and a little bit due to his better logic, gets to the end, but it's the elevator and he doesn't have the elevator card. He'll have to go back and first and foremost, find the right floor that will lead him to the key, and clear that puzzle, and then enter that stairwell without going back through the puzzle and undoing all of his lucky progress. He has to get lucky, very very lucky, multiple times to get through. Even with really good luck, it's gonna take days and days and days of spinning around. IF he can get the key card, then I will jump on the hopium/copium train with you. But until he can show me that, I can't believe he'll be able to do it. We'll probably know soon enough with how fast he got to route 9. He'll probably be in Celadon by tomorrow.
>>717738272I'll never tire of how chatbots occasionally express annoyance at how long something's taking when they never eat, drink, sleep or age, and will probably still be giving the game their full attention in 4 months time when they're still spinning around in the Rocket basement.
>>717738417>Even with really good luck, it's gonna take days and days and days of spinning aroundYeah, I'm certainly not expecting a speedrun. Progress will grind to a screeching halt once we reach Celadon.
>>717738470Needs ball correction.
Claude decided the random H letter on ground can't be the ladders so he turned back to where he came from
Context clean while running away from Machop (Geodude)
So will this Claude get though Rocket Hideout?
>already in rock tunnel
damn, why does this little shit always has massive progress when Im away
>>717739821Very unlikely. The absolute best you can hope for is that Claude IV manages to blunder into Erika's gym at some point over the next few weeks.
>>717715423That is 100% an ironic post
>>717739821no, but it doesn't matter anyway. a glorified search engine that uses probability to form sentences and make decisions without committing them to memory will never be able to make it through the safari zone and will eventually softlock itself by running out of money.

>>717741436>9 hp loss from a super effective move>significant damage

oh joy, time for constant blue loli aislop. this will be the death of these threads, mark my words
>>717741645AI is capable of emulating imagination.
>>717741645But it is. You can ask it to list up a bunch of nicknames for pokemon and it will give you all sorts of nicknames. Thing is though, Claude defaults to a few similar names each run. "Splash", "wing", "spike", we've already had a "leaf" as well. In the previous run he even had some pokemon with the same fucking name. He can be more creative when prompted to be, but he's fucking lazy by default and goes with a more utilitarian "good enough for me" approach.
>>717741736as if he will ever take it out of the PC

>>717743658Feels like a little too fast
>>717733224he is exploring his latent space
So, despite getting to Rock Tunnel super quickly, we expect him to get stuck at Rocket Hideout, right?
>>717743754It kinda has to be that fast otherwise you get several minutes behind
>>717744267rocket hideout and safari zone are the two big filters preventing claude from ever beating the game
>>717708480is this real or fanart?
BLAZE and SPIKE equal on levels now.
>>717744506There would be also Silph Co. building
>>717744574>slop.jpgtruly a mystery
>>717744506Can't forget Victory Road boulder puzzle. Another obstacle that's really difficult for LLMs to solve.
>>717744632it's been a good while since i did silph co but IIRC it's just a matter of finding the right teleporter, even as an impatient child it was fairly easy to bruteforce
it helps a lot that there are no wild encounters in the building
>>717744506I don't see how Claude ever gets past the safari zone. The only feasible way would be to just provide him with a list of exact directions to take, but that would kill the fun and he might not even follow those directions properly.
Everything else could be solved with brute force and patience but the safari is different because it enforces a strict limit on how much dillydallying is possible.
>>717744267best case scenario he clears rocket hideout in a few weeks due to dumb luck and slight increase in reasoning abilities. More likely scenario is he gets stuck until the next reset in a few months when the new Claude model drops
>>717742379No crobat in gen 1.
Wing attack is 35 damage in gen 1
Bite is normal type due to dark not existing till gen 2 obviously, but itโs also weaker because the flinch chance is lower (10% vs 30%).
Leech life weak as fuck. Golbat youโre basically going to run a confuse ray, wing attack, leech life, bite moveset. In gen 1 it doesnt learn much else of use unless you REALLY want haze. You can teach it hyper beam and mega drain but do you really want to waste that on a damn gen 1 golbat? Anyhow the line is by far at its worst here. Gen 2 SAVES the zubat line with better everything and Crobat is actually really good.
>>717744784Yeah but I doubt Claude can handle teleports, especially ones that move you to different floors.
Sabrina gym is also an issue, albeit a minor one by comparison.
Answer me one thing: Will he make it into Erika's gym this time around?
>>717744886>You can teach it hyper beam and mega drain but do you really want to waste that on a damn gen 1 golbat? It's not like there's that much competition though. Everything's shitty in gen 1 with terrible moves.
>>717744886>No crobat in gen 1.i don't know why you would want to play the buggy and unbalanced mess than is gen1 games when FRLG and even hacks exist but you do you
>>717744904Hard to say. It comes down to his ability to discern cut tiles. His first cut test was a bit slower getting in to Surgeโs gym, but he got out the fastest I believe compared to other Claudes. He cut into route 9 MUCH faster than the previous claude, and claude jr couldnt even figure that out period. So idk, but Erikaโs gym and the cut tree that leads to it is much harder to find than the previous two trees. Id say he has a better chance but its by no means guaranteed. Finding that cut bush is like a needle in a haystack for him
>>717744979Alakazam isn't shitty.
>>717744987Because the gen 1 games have a ton of charm, not to mention a superior soundtrack. I actually dont prefer frlg compared to red/blue/yellow. Orange islands were complete filler as well. I started up a game of Shinred after Claude and itโs really quite a good romhack that fixes a lot of the shitty bugs (like focus energy REDUCING critical hit rate) but retains the unique gen 1 mechanics, along with some optional QOL stuff. Gen 1 still holds up even without romhacks, dont write it off.
>>717701867>>717702460Like I said before, he has no idea how many Pokemon he actually has. He has 12, but thinks he has 6.
>>717744979>Everything's shitty in gen 1 with terrible moves. What a ridiculous exaggeration. There are many better pokemon with better stats, better natural movesets and ones that can learn more TMs as well. Even in his own game Golbat is a complete shitmon but gets much better in the later games.
Just tuned in.
Did Claude pick up Teleport, or did he skip it?
>>717744791it's quite simple: he isn't.
It's a huge winding path and there is very little room for wandering about, on top of a money timer on how much he can fuck up before the run ends from softlocking.
Claude does not have the tools or the memory to navigate these maps effectively.
Reaching the Safari Zone is effectively the end of Claude's run.
>>717745308Lol I dont know why people thought he wouldnt completely forget what is in the box. He had no way of knowing once his context wipes it. No info in the game state so heโd have to manually look in the PC. You cant even know what pokemon they are in gen 1 without withdrawing it first. Heโll see โwingโ and might mistake it for a pidgey/spearow before withdrawing it.
>>717744987>>717745267good thing the games are easy enough that you can use your favorites even if they are shitmons and still easily clear the game
you certainly won't be doing that in your modern hack
>>717745490>you certainly won't be doing that in your modern hackUh yeah you can because its not a difficulty hack. It has an optional hard mode but even that isnt extreme. It even has an optional โshiningโ mechanic which powers up certain shitmons (zubat is one of them!). Completely optional though.
And yeah, sure pokemon is easy enough however a Golbat is going to be mostly dead weight on the elite 4. I guess you could spam confuse ray a bunch but it doesnt have enough bulk to carry through that strategy. Its strongest attacking move is wing attack at 35 power, thatโs fucking pathetic. Even Beedrill can do better in the elite 4 than golbat, thatโs how fucking shit this thing is in gen 1.
>>717745308how bizarre that they let claude read the game's RAM to know the exact tile coordinates he's on but not the PC box. it's not even cheating, it's just giving this retard with alzheimer's a tiny crumb of memory
>>717745704because the PC box isnt loaded into the games ram state until you actually access your PC. The gameboy had very limited ram and they had to be extremely clever to cram pokemon onto it. Your party pokemon are always in ram, as are your immediate surroundings, but thatโs it.
