talked about it on an earlier thread but with more thoughts: i liked the ending (went visi romance and turned her hero, took waterboy, cut coupe), and while there's definitely some silly copouts like the dog hostage, I can look past it and appreciate a happy ending in a straightforward story. Is it complex? Not really, but it's nice.
the shit that really impressed me was the final dispatch of episode 8, i expected it to be mostly cutscenes but godDAMN there's a lot of kino and actual difficulty
>shift 1 starts and low morale + missing teammates means you probably lose early calls
>torrance gets a fucking HP bar and failing actually matters now, as in "if you let Torrance fall then you can't let the cut Z-team member back in"
>the fucking zoom out and it sets in that you're dispatching for the entire city now
>Coupe/Sonar showing up to straight up give you a proper final boss that felt more hype than Shroud's fight
>whoever you didn't pick ep 4 joins anyways to get a chance to shine
>if you start losing hard Blonde Blazer appears at fucking level 20 and will start hard carrying
>GIVE EM EVERYTHING YOU GOT
genuinely one of the best "final missions" i've had in a while, reminds me of 13 Sentinels' batshit final section where it's just your team against unending waves of bullshit
what a nice surprise
