Anyone have a boss like this? It's probably one aspect but most of the job seems to be like this.
>"Hi boss man, I got into touch with Person X to get in touch with you in order to weigh in on this important function Y, did he get back to you on it? I need to confirm this as much as possible."
>"No, but I did talk to Person X on 'completely irrelevant thing btw, did you see the email on 'completely irrelevant thing that's nowhere near as important as this other thing'"
It seems a lot of my conversations go like this and it's starting to frustrate me.
>"hi anon, did you take a look at ticket x?"
>"No, they didn't go through the proper channels. I'll take a look at it, but do you want me to do x, y, or z on it"
>"Thanks anon, we should talk about our intake on proper channels later."
Sure, I could probably be more assertive and take stuff into my own hands but doing that in the previous months backfired hard, so I've been just pushing back to leadership on exactly what to do only to get met with that.
