This is why games like Fire Emblem fake the RNG. Humans are bad at mentally visualizing probability, and will exaggerate it to opposite ends. So Fire Emblem compensates by buffing the RNG if it’s high, and nerfing it if it’s low, so a “95% chance to hit” is actually around 98%, while a “44% chance to hit” is actually only 35%. Humans won’t mind (or perceive) missing in scenarios where they would’ve gotten lucky, as long as the RNG is more “predictable”. Meanwhile, in Uma Musume, a 12% chance to fail is just that: 12%, no sugarcoating it.
