The way I approach it is that I view the story boarding part of making manga as like 80% of the hard work. Shit like transferring it to pencil and final inks is all just rendering in my mind, but with storyboarding, even if it looks as shitty as something like pic related, all the heavy lifting and storytelling is right there. I get that little hint in my mind saying "Yeah this is gonna work" and just thumnbail for the next page and the next and so on, as if Im looking at what my real comic will look like, just in its primitive stages.
Id recommend trying to do more thumbnailing cause that is the thing thats gonna make you draw faster in the end. Having a solid idea to work from, even if it looks shitty at the moment, will make the drawing of the actual page faster. Plus the more you do thumbnails and getting the raw ideas down the more better your thumbnails will end up looking which will again make drawing the actual real pages faster.
