>Can I get a qrd on this series?
Basically it's a Turn-based SRPG series based around the Mecha genre. There are two kinds of SRW games, OG (original generation) and the crossover games that features series like franchises like Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, Gundam, and the like. The gameplay is simple but where the game shines (at least in the crossover games) is the animations for battles and use of a world specifically made for a series to co-exist with each other. For example in SRW 30 and iirc T, Ryoma (from Getter Robo), Kouji Kabuto (Mazinger Z), and Amuro Ray where all friends in the OYW from Gundam 0079 and work to fight off Zeon and other villains like Dr. Hell at the time. As for the animations I'll just link some for you since they speak for themselves. As for where to start, I recommand starting with the games that are easy to get in eng like 30 or one of V,T, or X. I You should also look into emulating some of the older games with eng translations like W (one of my favorites in the series.
Some of the animations you can find in the SRW games.

>Also is gundam battle alliance any good?
I haven't played it myself but a friend of mine did and loved it. So you should go for it if you are a big fan of Gundam.
