I think it's more likely that when they were designing her for DoW3 and were making her helmetless, they realized that concept art of what she looked like without her helmet from DoW1 didn't exist, so they googled Macha and saw the art /tg/ had made and just assumed that it was somehow in-line with some concept art they just didn't have access to. Macha is a redhead with stripes because of /tg/, yes, but purely by happenstance.
