It'd be an asspull if Deux was a clonetype as she's from Murasame labs (which is under EF control). Additionally, all of her health issues and her newtype philosophy would point to her being a transformed orphan rather than a test tube baby.

For the amount of time they have on screen, the side characters are well characterized and extremely memorable if you're paying attention. They're colorful and intriguing, but this is hampered by the fact that they pretty much die or disappear immediately after their introduction. You can't build them up into anything, and it leaves the audience feeling unfulfilled, like you've stopped an interesting story right before the climax or punchline and left it hanging.
