My headcannon is that the "suits" of these companies will see a game that becomes a breakout hit and then dumps a ton of resources into developing a clone of it and finally going to market 5 years after the interest of that type of game has completely waned. Concord, for example. YEARS after stuff like pubg, fortnite, and overwatch.

The success of Baldurs Gate 3 will also cause these companies to shit out an inferior clone in 5 years after everyone forgot about it.
