I feel like I gave the game a fair chance, it just isn't good. Obviously it sucks ass as a sequel to Bloodlines, but even judging it as something independent it still kind of sucks. The combat in particular actually manages to be worse than the original anytime you're facing multiple enemies. The RPG is non-existent, it's just a sort of platforming brawler walking sim type game with not very good writing or voice acting. Nothing stands out at all, there's no Jeanette or Ocean House type thing, just a lot of bland and lifeless environments with bland and lifeless characters. Total disaster.

I also played a Tremere. The abilities are okay but they get old, and the pip system really limits their use. The reason the curse+boil combo feels so good is because it lets you skip the awful combat most of the time.

I wish they remade the first game with better combat. I recently tried to play the first one again and couldn't get past the horrible combat but everything else was perfect.

Yeah, it sucks. The entire game is built around stealth takedowns and feeding, combat is something that happens when you fucked up like a Thief game, and the disciplines are infrequent. The little power up potions help some, but they're just such a gay and out of place idea. It's crazy how bad they fucked it up.

I like it, it's just VTM Blood Hunt turned into a full game. It runs great and looks good on PS5 Pro. Sound is mostly stellar, the music and the main voice cast are great, Fabian and Phyre are endearing, Old Lady Tremere can get it.
The bads, combat and traversal takes getting use to, I'm not wild about Toredor's kit, there's no Beast checks, I keep letting humans go early like every VTM game before teaches you to do and they straight to cops who would attack me and grinding blood points is tedious. Especially before you get taunt

I liked it. Plenty of fanboy pandering but I wish they made it more like the VTMR. The first bloodlines game was kinda overrated anyway. A solid 3/5. I am not surprised they made it a walking sim essentially because the devs made Dear Esther. So I knew what I was getting into.
