Deltarune has better writing than Sonic. Made with artistic passion, Deltarune explores the role of the player in a game, in a way that Sonic games can never touch. The weird route alone trumps all Sonic writing, and takes advantage of its video game medium to explore concepts such as free will and destiny, the price of freedom, and meta-narrative on changing the outcome of a story.
