A lot of creatives are like that, get into the habit of writing your ideas down the instant you have them. Remember, short term memory only lasts for around 20 seconds before whatever idea you had is discarded or stored for long term use. More then likely discarded though as you have found out yourself.

There's an in-universe reason why. I think making plushies of the Lightners would directly conflict with the themes the game is trying to present.

It happened to me with a fave from another franchise to the point where I got so attached to him and was so sad he wasn't real that I actually cried sometimes and almost got back into a depressive rut. I had to force myself to detach from him, it was a long and painful process that took a few months but after I managed to do so I swore to never indulge the way I did with him again.

My imagination is one of the main things that's kept me going in times and places when I couldn't just whip out a pen and paper and draw, without it my patience and tolerance for boring and inane bullshit wouldn't be so developed. If it were to disappear, I'd feel like and become absolute garbage of a person, knowing I have nothing to fall back on in times of need that can't be taken from me.
