Not really my job to fix, I'm not a game designer.
Seeing some students, especially bases and not alts, releasing in a state where they're worse than students that were already considered poor is a shame though, as are situations like Misaki's bond gear that do next to nothing for a pitifully weak character.
I'm not expecting parity even ignoring outliers like blufes students, but it'd be nice if the gap was smaller instead of a student having a niche baked into their kit (Like Eri's, which is a nice little gimmick), but the base numbers being so low it doesn't feel like jumping through the hoops will catch you up to a more basic student, let alone the stronger choices.

That is a perfectly reasonable take though - I spent a long time not bothering with some optimal choices just because I made do with what I had when I was new and they were always "Good enough" and then I grew attached to them.

Like I said, I'm really happy with the state of the game and not trying to make a mountain out of fucking meta sweat in a waifu collector.
