What bothers me in regards to nobody addressing time ramifications is also due to how sort of hollow all the side characters are. So far, Asuna and everyone else barely speak and just appear to be archetypes. When we see her again, it's just like "oh, yeah, she did have a unique design and name", but nothing about it feels grand. People have been spoiling her new outfit and partner, so I guess there was no surprise there.. but still...

The story pacing just zooms past things and everything feels empty. It feels more like the story is a series of bullet points for the most part.
