So the weak argument here is that if they were burning bodies, the entire landscape would have been totally covered in vast amounts of smoke that would have blocked out the sky and totally obscured the ground? That's not how open air cremation works.
Nazis used the same exact method of outdoor cremation in other places (Dresden and the Klooga concentration camp) and exactly what the survivor testimony independently claimed was going on in the burning pits: "grills" made of metal I-beams or railroad tracks then layered with bodies. We can see the smoke coming off the pyre, doesn't look like it's enough to block out the sky.
