and the Americans simultaneously attempted to improve Russia by promoting capitalism.
the Russians attempted to sow division by fracturing political groups in the U.S., completely misunderstanding that having diverse political factions is the point of democracy in the first place
the Americans tried the same thing, but going the other way this actually improved the Russian economy because allowing capitalist American corporations to do business there only strengthened the economy
in the end there are practically no coordinated efforts left, the end result is chaos
