depends, most fossils of large creatures are likely academic fabrications. what we can actually find are smaller creatures with shells and exo skeletons, stuff the it would make sense for the sediment to preserve. Bones however would be pretty unlikely. The reason we know SOME megfauna actually existed is because people have stumbled upon entire specimens frozen or otherwise deposited. Other things like dragons and giant human beings were either hunted to extinction or covered up. dragons were likely something closer to a huge monitor lizard which we have full modern skeletons of. like crocs and alligators they weren't TOO hard to kill. as a rule you should mistrust ALL fossils you can't find yourself though.
