Don't bother with Vortex. Download the mod enabler:

then create a folder for your mods (pic rel) and extract the paks from the zips in this folder. Path will obviously be different with GamePass.

If you use the skip intro messages mod you need also another mod (the blueprint loader) and have to add two lines in the Engine.ini. Easy and well worth it imo.
