>Players are being paid more than ever before
this is unironically an issue. pretty soon free agency is going to be a disaster with the expectations players have. Schwarber is entering his age 34 season and wants a 5 year deal that pays 30 million a year just to be a DH. Pete Alonso wants 8 year deal and is probably hoping he gets in the 20-30 million dollar a year range too. Players are inflating their contract value and it's going to blow up insanely if we don't expect any kind of cap to come. Soon we'll have career minor leaguers who are no more than utility bench warmers who think they're entitled to 100 million dollar deals, the Tanner Scott deal is going to become the standard for ALL relievers, high profile free agents are going to start entering the BILLION range, and all these things will also lead to the game itself becoming more expensive for people to watch.
