Oda’s lack of temporal awareness is a trait that’s been consistently present since the very beginning of the manga. It’s (part of) the reason why the anime feels so obnoxiously slow paced. Moving from Logue Town to Wano in a year can easily be achieved in a world where characters have long drawn out conversations in the heat of battle.
