Rey Dau was giving him the business before it got chain drained in it's cutscene. If Arkveld couldn't sap elemental power it would have had it's neck crushed or head blasted off from Rey.

It's funny to me that Lagi stole an entire area theme for himself, just like Rathalos with Forest and Hills. Like it's weird to hear a certain area theme play for a fight when you're not actually fighting there.

Grinding Lagiacrus for 4 hours to get Sapphires has made me despise it more than the 3U version, and grinding for claws in that game made me want to rip my eyeballs out. This monster is fucking cursed to be ass in every game.

15x better than the GU version holy shit, insanely low bar but still
