I don't want underwater gameplay to ever come back. Implementing sequences like this in the fights for underwater monsters works great but I never want it fully back. It's a dogshit way to fight in the longterm that used up nearly all the resources during game development to implement it. Regarding underwater combat, one of the areas that would improve the experience overall if they brought back underwater weapon movesets, is to make sure the arenas are always small and to have complex terrain. Having massive spaces of emptiness does have a huge impact on the flow of underwater fights. I still think underwater combat is inferior to land combat, but providing it's seldom used, and the arenas are designed how I just mentioned, they might turn out to be someone satisfying to do on repeat playthroughs.

I would have preferred them to increase HP values across the board by a lesser extent. Worlds has a much more satisfying combat. In the base game even without any update we would go dozens of hour killing whatever we felt like and it'd always be fun because the monster AND hunter movesets were meticulously crafted to have many ways of approaching any situation. None of that happened. World's lobbies were lifeless and had 0 interactions before Iceborne PC when Capcom themselves started adding more features for it and most of the community moved to PC instead of console. Base World's combat was also shit, the weapons felt completely unfinished and lacked crucial elements that would be brought over in Iceborne. Every single hunt in base World consisted of just spamming traps and flash pods over and over again and base World's monsters make up what is objectively the worsts monster roster to this date.

Iceborne turned World into overall a pretty good MH game and a great one at times, but base World is the worst game in the series and by a lot. Wilds with all of its issues still feels more soulful and like it actually provided me something memorable compared to release World.

Seregios is very hard for non block weapons, his leg moves really are absolute bullshit and he can throw out like 6 in a row without stopping and you can't really deal with them through evades. I'm playing Glaive, but to be fair Gore is basically immune to aerial attacks, which still matters no matter how ground centric they try to make the weapon. That chip damage when you're gap closing or getting some hits mid-attack when other weapons would have to evade adds up but Gore's wings block it and take fuck all damage. Steve is open to it a lot more, even if his big swinging kick's hitbox will knock you out of the sky if you're within a mile of him.
