Like, CV has way, way too much going on, you could write a book on everything in it in regards to its themes and usage of allusion. Like, here, Wesker literally calls himself a ghost haunting Chris in his interaction with Claire, and, exclusive to Chris' side, is the mansion recreation. Nothing is being stated about Chris' trauma or his specific reasons on why he chose to hide what he was doing from Claire, so all of this is doing that legwork, and it culminates with this image- Claire, entrapped, in the heart of the mansion. And that's Chris' fault.
