im a QA engineer, this feels like doing the entire opposite of my formal profession and is really hard to grasp. i genuinely have to kneel to the programmers out there but that doesnt mean i wont shit talk you for how bad some your code is sometimes

im still very new to this, i have a basic system for making a battlefield and various ways to interface with it but the second i have to start spawning shit im lost. like yeah i can spawn it but beyond that im just clueless and i hate admitting it. theres a lot not built yet that would make it easier but i cant decide how i want to do shit either so ill try 3-5 different approaches and they all seem bad or inefficient. i do at least have some experience getting high level ideas to low level execution but theres too many ways to go about it. following some guide on youtube or a forum doesnt feel right because it always feels too inefficient to make progress.

>Solo indie gamedev is one of the absolute hardest things you could be doing in life
im probably making this harder on myself using visual scripting too, but at my skill level this is the best im gonna understand.
at work i can mentally piece apart a programmer's code during blackbox testing and even come back with approximate pseudocode and its within 70-90% accuracy to the real code from what im told, but im working with something already built. building it from scratch is entirely foreign to me and while i could just not care and "make it work" that doesnt feel right to me at all and keeps building me into a corner. got any suggestions for making this easier?
