This is the one thing that stood out for me the most. The buildups that usually last over a minute to a punchline that just doesn't hit at all. And it just repeats a couple times per episode. There are other anime that are just casually funny and don't require a lengthy setup for its jokes to be funny. I'd respect the redditors who watch this show so much more if they just straight up admitted it's garbage as a comedy but a unique eye candy and that's what they're watching it for. But they choose to enact rain dances in hoping that this time people who watch anime will appreciate it just like they should've appreciated Nichijou.
