I'm an oled shill (for free!) and I would NEVER tell you to go for one as your single monitor. It's just too risky.
Hell there isn't even a single good OLED monitor I would recommend for the richest of fags because they have no strobing modes, and oled technology is completely wasted without strobing, this is something not many people realize. The only good OLED displays are TVs, I have yet to find a single good oled one. I'm waiting on Blurbuster to tune one.
So yeah just buy the best bang for bucks IPS, stick to 120hz it's enough (144hz is good too but make sure to use VRR properly, if you want higher Hz, stick to multiples of 60s instead, like 180hz or 240hz)
>input lag
A modern fast gaming IPS with VRR should be way snappier than your current display. 60hz vsync alone is a huge hit to input lag in generals, there's ways around that but it's complicated.

Maybe one day someone will release an oled monitor for 200 bucks, then it would be worth buying and replace it every few years once it inevitably burns. Until that happens the best way to oled is a dedicated oled TV for content consooomption, gaming and an IPS/VA for browsing and working (what I'm doing now)
/v/ - 4K is a meme. Get 240hz 1440p

>Response times don't matter beyond refresh rate compliance
Yes True. But response times aren't the main reason why you see motionblur. Your own eyes creates blur inbetween frames, which can only be cleared by strobing. This is why CRTs were automatically less blurry in mention despite the 60hz refresh. We can simulate them on today's displays with BFI
and it doesn't have to be oled either, just need a panel that can finish pixel transitions in half of the time of the actual frametime
