I had gotten a 43 Samsung right before covid. The OS on it was pretty good. Unfortunately the TV had shit itself back in January, so I got a 55 inch Samsung. I don't know what the fuck Crystal UHD is but this TV looked like shit. The sides for some reason had this DSE bullshit along them. I had Samsung replace the screen last month and it still had the same issue, so now I'm in the process of being reimbursed for it. The DSE issues were pretty distracting depending on what was on the screen, I'd get a migraine from it. Why didn't I return it right away? Unfortunately for me I decided to thoroughly play Silent Hill 2 on it first, which was too dark and dull to notice there was an issue, so I missed out on returning it. The new OS is also shit, along with the new remote it came with, so I just used my old one.

Yeah probably just small improvement iterations from model to model. I've used it for quite awhile now (since Christmas the year before last) and no signs of burn in. It has that pixel shift thing as well which helps I think. As far as I'm aware they also did a revision of the s90c to make the panels more resilient to burn in so I can only image that the panels used for s90d (and most probably the s90f then too) are even better in that regard so I don't really think it's a massive concern.

Fun fact, PCfags knowledge of how things work outside of the PC environment is dated by at least 10year on average. They think physical games are download tokens. The only experience they have with TVs is the budget set thier parents bought during black friday in 2010. They go by rumors, hearsay and generally believe whatever lines up with their beliefs without really knowing what they are talking about. Theres living under a rock and then theres being a pcfag right next to it

What lag? Do you realize most TV's nowadays are sub 9ms, which is the same as monitors?

Same for monitor or tv:
60hz = 9ms
120hz = 5ms
240hz = 3ms

The muh lag excuse stopped being valid since like 2019.

>objectively false. editors use pro monitors for video editing, not consumer TVs.
Pro equipment mainly focuses on color accuracy.

And color accuracy is largely overrated and often misunderstood in customer environment. The customer is supposed to adjust the colors to their preferences.
That's why color accuracy is only important in production environment, so that things look good on different user settings.

I'm an oled shill (for free!) and I would NEVER tell you to go for one as your single monitor. It's just too risky.
Hell there isn't even a single good OLED monitor I would recommend for the richest of fags because they have no strobing modes, and oled technology is completely wasted without strobing, this is something not many people realize. The only good OLED displays are TVs, I have yet to find a single good oled one. I'm waiting on Blurbuster to tune one.
So yeah just buy the best bang for bucks IPS, stick to 120hz it's enough (144hz is good too but make sure to use VRR properly, if you want higher Hz, stick to multiples of 60s instead, like 180hz or 240hz)
>input lag
A modern fast gaming IPS with VRR should be way snappier than your current display. 60hz vsync alone is a huge hit to input lag in generals, there's ways around that but it's complicated.

Maybe one day someone will release an oled monitor for 200 bucks, then it would be worth buying and replace it every few years once it inevitably burns. Until that happens the best way to oled is a dedicated oled TV for content consooomption, gaming and an IPS/VA for browsing and working (what I'm doing now)

>>718957236
You have to understand these monitors companies absolutely don't give a fuck about what you do with these things. They just focus on bigger numbers better and don't care about the things as long the numbers are better so they can justify higher prices.
But still 144hz is useful for 120fps games because VRR needs some Hz higher than your target FPS. If you get a 120hz display than your VRR framerate will be 117 instead, that's kind of bad as a few game assets like prerendered movies will expect 60/120fps framepacing and they will stutter at 117.

Not really. The best thing about it is your desktop browsing experience is a LOT better with more space for your windows and multitasking, for gaming it's definitly sharper but hitting native 1440p is quite a bit harder on the GPU and you can't get away with too much upscaling unless you're on nvidia with dlss or amd 9070 (fsr4)
