One of the weirdest events in this whole affair. Also kind of crazy how irrelevant it was. At the time I was just like “holy shit Russia is such an embarrassing shitshow it’s literally over”. Now looking back on it, the whole thing was a largely irrelevant blip, at most a footnote in the war.

It will be interesting reading about what historians really think happened, years from now when I’m an old man. Makes me wonder what did people in America think about for example the Night of the Long Knives when it actually happened vs what we know today decades later after the whole thing is over.
