RE0 would have been a better game on N64.

The main issue with RE0 is that the animation work is awful, everything takes a thousand frames, feel delayed, and is not satisfying to play at all. REmake already had that issue but it was tolerable, 0 just doubled down on it. Every new generation had its own "TECHNOLOGY!" moment people were obsessed with and at the start of the 6th gen one of those were animations with too many frames because "look how cool it looks!" and because new programs were made that could create animation frames automatically in between the ones created by the modeler.

Meanwhile RE0 on N64 is literally RE2. It has RE2 character and enemy models (reskinned), RE2 animations, and most likely used the same engine as RE2 N64. Gameplay would have been as tight as in RE2.

N64 version was also more colourful and more akin to what RE1 was in style. Everything else points at the game being identical otherwise (setting, progression, mechanics, story)
