I think the point of the story isn't to be a generic JRPG plot about changing fate/fighting god/flipping the bird to the Prophecy. I don't think the Prophecy even should be antagonized. The way these future events are set up ("And YOU definitely wouldn't let it happen.") sets the Prophecy will tell a fatalistic fate where everything was written and set in stone but every action were conscious choices by the actors involved. There's not much of a point to any of what I'm saying rather I just wanna express people's idea you MUST change fate you HAVE TO fight against the hecking evil prophecy feels like a lame and simplistic way of seeing the story
