I think I'd just as soon have the team dwindle one by one until Maelle succeeds as the only survivor. Losing the found family she built as comrades, but carrying on their sacrifice that would allow her to return to a home that she once felt out of place in but can now find the spirit to build something with hope for the future for the first time.
