God. They wanted to end the storyline so badly they rushed the end to an absurd degree.

But rather than start fresh to give new players a jumping off point they could start at instead of going through all the other expansions which is a massive time investment they decided to just...not do that and they just tied a bunch of the old shit in with the new plot anyway so it doesn't actually feel like a break in the story at all anymore
