So /g/ has been telling me to buy one of these things to make sure stuff we save/download/etc actually is backed up. Is there any other way of having a dependable HDD/replacement/anything rather than doing it this way?

Regarding Raid systems, I think Raid 1 will be good for someone like me. Can anyone recommend me any good brands/links on how to get started with this storage? I've been saving a lot of youtube videos and I want to make an archive.
