I'm not defending his broader point, and I've only thoroughly studied a handful of our pantheons, but I can give you this:

Kronos.

They all rule over the afterlife for the heroes (Elysium/Valhal), are the father of God (ie. Thor/Jupiter/Zeus), are associated with harvesting (both men and corn) and are propitiated around a solstice (Saturnalia, Yule - and Kronos was near the Summer Solstice).
