This is so forced so they could elicit a loss reaction. They built up this stupid character's relationship with Thalyssra in some book just so they can try and write something impactful when they take it away from the user.

Like when they faked out Khadgar's death to elicit a loss response from the community because Khadgar is a familiar face that people have talked / memed about. They're so fucking lazy when it comes to writing anything provoking, just cliches.

If a character suddenly gets a lot of screen time / you learn about things that make them heckin' relatable or likeable, they're more likely to be killed off.

It's like it's written by teenagers. I mean, I wouldn't put it past blizzard to just be a bunch of adult children.
