Weird webm, but this isn't unique to Millennials. Pretty much every generation has a portion of its members who go through this. It's called mid-life crisis. Boomers had entire books, movies, and studies based on it. I think the denial is hitting Millennials hard right now because they're sort of the first generation whose youth has been chronicled by the internet and social media. It's similar to how some actors hate watching their movies because they can see how they've aged over the years. Then they start hitting up the plastic surgeons lol. As someone who is 40, I admit my mental self-image of myself is still that of my 20-25 year old self. Then, however, I occasionally catch my reflection in public and it's like "Whoa... is that really me? Holy fuck I'm starting to look like my dad! AHHHH!!"
Probably the one recent generation that didn't give a fuck about growing up and looking old was the Greatest Gen; mostly because they grew up during actual hard times and war times, and were too exhausted with trying to raise the annoying Boomers and keep the country together before the Boomers said "GIMME DAT!" and started fucking it up.
I also think it has to do with our youth-obsessed capitalist society. For reasons stated in this video.

That said, it's not all bad either. At 40, it's true, there are definitely young women out there who are into older men. But you gotta embrace your age and maturity rather than fight it. Don't be like some 40 year old faggot who still dresses, talks, and acts like he's 22 and still in college. That's what women end up doing and why so many of them age horribly. Like Cameron Diaz, 50+ actress still trying to play the young damsel in distress. It just doesn't work.
