this is the reason tfg was so obsessed with projectile weapons as opposed to the hitscan aim assist bs that was every other weapon.

this was partly my position on why; it's some kind of hereditary human instinct to worry more about lions/hippos/elephants/threats on your own plane than tigers/panthers/apes in the plane above you. Less common. You basically put into writing what I was thinking.
