It's just kinda boring. Jane & Jake and Roxy & Dirk are already ectobiology pairs. It's like the least creative pair ups you could do. That's why I appreciate Roxy x John so much, it's something you'd never call early on when you only have Mom but then you see it and its like "oh yeah the alphas create a bunch of new pairings" its fun
