They genuinely do not like each other. Other people have hurt Gunvolt more for worse reasons, but I don't think he hates any of them as much as he hates Shiden. This is just a pure, unbridled hate based upon nothing more than personality. It's almost impressive how neither can see themselves in the other considering they have such similar backgrounds.
