First update in a while. Spent a long time attempting a refactor of my player controller, failing because I am stupid, putting it off for months, trying again, failing, etc. Eventually got it done, so I can finally move onto the actual fun stuff: programming new features. We now have a working inventory system and message box with auto-pagination and typewriter-effect. Will be used for item descriptions, flavour text, and NPC dialogue.
Also brought in a friend to do all the writing. He'll be replacing my placeholder dev story with proper writing, including the game title not that I think anyone here would remember it. Hoping to have some new puzzle elements ready for feedback at DD64.
