He did want to make it, he just wanted to call it Director's Plus. Considering how many of the additions and changes make their way into DS2 as well, the additional lore and songs that also tie into DS2, it would be a lesser experience to not play DC. Ludvig Forssell also created over 3 hours of new OST so this is no mere cashgrab. Anyone who is a real Death Stranding fan would play DC for that alone.
