Look, I get you're trying to be objective and I respect that, but there are certain things KH1 strictly does better than KH2, and that's certainly the level design.
Wonderland is a perfect example of that, it's unique and respectful of it's source material. You start out in a crazy hallway that leads to the room with the doorknob, where you drink the make me small drink and enter the Queen's courtyard.
What do you do in Mulan's world, whatever it was called? There's a generic camp (an empty box where you fight heartless) and then there's a hallway (the mountainside) where you fight more heartless and then you go to the courtyard where it's another empty box where you fight more heartless. *yaaaaawn*
Wonderland has you in the forest where you're big/tall eating acorns and then you enter the area with a big long table and you have to pick the right answer or heartless attack you or you get items/healing and then you have to light the candles in the next area which is upside down and then you enter the TOP of the FIRST area above the fireplace next to the evidence and if you gather all the evidence you learn Blizzard early which is strong vs the area's boss.
What the fuck does KH2 do? Nothing compare to this.
Every area of KH1 is unique and special, that's not subjective that's fact. KH2 is boring, bland, hallways upon hallways and backtracking to world's you've already been to.
I drew a map of the forest area of Wonderland for you to better understand how much more exploration there is in KH1 compared to KH2. Finding Aeroga and other Gummi parts in KH1 was far far better than finding synthesis materials in KH2.
