i have an ongoing worldbuilding lore thing thats been my main creative focus for the past couple years, i like to write and draw and its usually stuff that feeds into that in some way. i have been meaning to form a proper unified story for it instead of occasionally coming up with disjointed little scenes & passages but i still can't quite figure out how. i'm sure i will eventually

i'm a big we wuz priestesses advocate when it comes to historical trannyism. i think modern western-derived conceptions of transness are just a particular codification of the broader phenomenon of gender deviance & unconventionally gendered social roles, from the perspective of modern social sciences & cultural & political values. sometimes this deviance is codified into certain archetypes from a completely different frame of reference and thats okay. it frustrates me a bit when people accuse others of "imposing modern western phenomena" when they associate third genders & such with transness bc yes of course a modern transgender and a priest/ess of inanna aren't exactly the same thing but if numerous societies in all areas of the world over thousands of years have gender-deviant social categories contravening birth sex don't you think it's useful to point out that common thread?
anyway eunuchs vary a lot between cultures that had/have them as a social role and some would probably fit more closely with what people consider "trans" than others. personally i consider them to largely be part of the overarching tranny tradition bc they often seem to be more of a distinct third gender sort of thing that is explicitly made to not be men, as opposed to just "non-reproductive men" like monks, but i suppose the line is blurry in some cases. its up to you really i'm just giving you my pseudbabble
