Bragging rights, the silver discrepancy in grinding within those places wouldn't be as bad had the spots stayed relevant, hence they got that silly lantern to plug the gaps for it (despite Elvia doing the same shit) to not be as bad. The infinite potions however got streamlined a lot since they're too useful.
