Creating a base Kharazad is about 6b right now.
I guess weigh how much you want to work on obtaining Edania armors and their time-gated upgrade materials early compared to if you'd rather save that money and buy pen debos to convert, and work on the armors later.
I hate it as well. It's like they're really, REALLY trying to force people into sunk-cost low grade kharazads when waiting and just buying a pen debo to convert is mathematically the far better choice, especially when the new zones drop all debo bases so they're only going to get cheaper as you grind up the money for it.

If you had said "the nature of players" or something similar I would probably agree, as a lot of people have an issue with not doing everything in their power to only minmax silver/h. Very little is specifically mandatory to progress, all the enhancement materials can be bought off the marketplace so any income of silver lets you progress.

As it is right now, most of this Edania content is only accessible to a couple thousand players across all servers, many of which probably aren't even playing anymore.
If the fishing and lifeskilling in the area is useless or even just inefficient, the region is going to be even more dead than LOML aside from a couple dozen streamers and gearlords dueling each other over their throne of dust.

The funniest part of the patch will be to see the shitfest and complain from the community

Dungeon requirment have been patched out. I haven't done any of the dungeons besides the first because when I tried the 2nd dungeon had a softlock bug so I stopped playing them.

There's a good reason they patched out the requirement to do the dungeons first.
I just did them yesterday for the hammer at the end and got bugged/softlocked around 20 times throughout them all, most of which required some combination of forfeiting the quest, throwing items away and re-acquiring them, swapping characters or completely logging out and back in.
It altogether took me about as long to do all 4 of those questlines and the ending as it took to do magnus a while back and was somehow an even worse experience.

Are Giant workers the best for regular gathering nodes? And then humans for excavation nodes?

The way it works out most of the time is that goblins tend to be better for nodes that are like 1-3 nodes away and giants are better for 3+ node lengths away
3 is about where it's really close and kinda depends on the distance(it slightly varies)

This is because goblins work fast and giant's work slow but make 2x as much once they're done. So if you put a goblin on a long route, it's going to spend 2x as much time traveling as a giant. Hope this makes sense.

The droprate on the endtimes is really low and it's only worth 20m, I have no idea what they were thinking about.
And once you got the crystal of ruin on each spot, the drops for those become nearly useless.
I've also been grinding for over 5h in total in there (2h at the first spot and 3h at the second) and gotten 0 debos.

So once you're out of agris the silver is not even that good.

Dawns got a spike with the mentor event when smurfs bought the whole dawn stock to rush a TET/PEN Kharazad and now the demand is steadily dropping. I don't know what the point of the fish phase is in the Coral Nagas spot. I don't blame people leaving these spots and going back to spots like Dokkebi and DSR. New spots feel weird and the money feels bad. It will feel worse too in a month where Deborekas will start crashing, the necklace was below 250m today.

The new life crystals are pretty sick.
Full mastery crystals was +160 mastery, full exp was +80% exp, now you get to use both at once at an improved amount. (+240 mastery, +112% exp)
Already had the full set of 16 exp and 16 mastery crystals, just had to extract them.
It took about 4 hours to mine all the crystals from the crabs to make them, and about 15b worth of sharps and magical shards.

Base boss armor is most useful to make concentrated boss aura, which is needed to craft blackstar weapons. If you're far away from needing sovereign offhand and plan on buying two PEN blackstars instead of enhancing them yourself then I guess you could sell them, but they're really rare drops and preorders rarely fill on the MP when you actually need them. A couple hundred mil is basically nothing.

The enhanced ones on the marketplace have been sitting for years, because nobody enhances boss gear to pen anymore, and you can't melt it down so it sits uselessly.

You see, I'm gonna be honest with you, the spot has barely any mechanics. You kill one camp, the next one spawns and you repeat the cycle. Around the 7 minute mark, a camp spawns with only trickster nagas, I think it's there to show you that you are halfway there for the boss spawn, since they don't do anything differently. At 15 minutes the boss spawns and starts the fish phase, which is a safe time to horse stack or maid the trashloot. The only real filter of the spot is to reach the AP caps with attack speed crystals and deep sea perfume, which most people can't do that consistently and are going back to dokkebi or the other Edania spot. You also can't overclear the spot, if you kill the first camp faster, you just wait on the second camp to spawn, so unless they change something about the spot in the next patches, I think the spot is capped at 20k trashloot for all classes.

I use AoA so that cancels out Mystic's passive. The only thing that can be potentially dangerous is the Naga boss, but he is so slow and his attacks are so telegraphed that after a couple fights, you won't ever get damaged by him ever again. The rest of the spot is basically harmless as long as you are hitting them. You can't sit afk and reply to emails mid-grind, but the harmony's sustain on top of your class' passives should be enough to facetank both the mobs and the contamination debuff the spot has.

Looks like Caphras are starting to rise in price again, I still need 9k which is 20bil right now for the Sovereign Subweapon but I'm not sure if I should buy them now or wait for a bigger drop. I don't know what you are smoking but I'd want some too. Coral Nagas is a 2.3b per hour spot with agris, Orbita is a 3b per hour spot with agris. These are according to garmoth, which isn't saying much because these are averages at 200% droprate, most people stacked on event items and LoML foods grind at 320%, and well geared players that are at the AP caps of these zones pull more than the garmoth's averages. Orzekea is a maid-gated grindspot unless you go in there and grind without agris and at this point you are making shit money anyways.

I have 3500 hrs in FF14 and honestly the story in this is much more compelling and interesting than "oh no some tribes of monsters are praying to these being that are coming to life please help us kill them". That was always the case, even before Edania release. Same goes for every piece of gear, btw. The problem is someone has to tap them. Using the Edania drops for DUO to TRI taps is 1b cheaper per tap than using blacksmith crons, so it's a step towards the right direction. I hope they lower the armor pities though, just like they did with blackstars and godr, because maxing out pity trying to tap a Silent, even with the cheaper taps is going to cost 100b.

They've slowly removed some of the more enticing loyalty purchases from the shop and the event rotations have all but ceased handing out sub packs of any kind. Whats the gameplay loop look like at higher levels? Ive been levelling to 57 on a ranger and so far all Ive been doing is grinding away at pve camps solo which gets old fast. that's the game, at higher levels though, mobs cannot be oneshot, you'll have to use full combos and keep in mind buffs and debuffs, hell you don't even have to move around the area since there's a lot of tower spots where mobs just come at you. There's also bosses and dungeons, but they're a once a week kind of deal, the bulk of pve "content" is hitting mobs.
Alternatively, you can take up lifeskilling, fishing is nice since you can just afk overnight and make a billion silver or so if you have the magnus, or you can take up something more active like hunting

Grinding is the game. You can either grind the many different monster spots or go pick flowers and join the pile of fishmongers on the beaches. The game is 99% solo climb with a minuscule amount of group activities at the so-called endgame. Fucked that up continues care is nice to have but you're looking for miraculous cheer IV or V to auto use your infinite HP/Mana Pots every few seconds and will make any grinding so much easier.
Anything else should be very much up-to-date for the new player experience to get into the early late game.

Try out a lot of new classes, you want at least 5 lvl61 alts in full pen tuvala anyway to park at Garmoth and the 4 loml bosses so just try stuff. Archer is cool, also classes like Deadeye, Witch or Dosa feel really good and play very different. BDO is all about finding a class you feel comfy to use so my tip for any new player is try stuff before you commit on a main as you only have 1 chance to easy pick up two matching PEN BS weapons you can tun into a SOV that makes your char so much stronger from the get go.

no but i think PA destroying the gearing and pve economy is good and funny because it's what pve nerds asked for and they've never been more unhappy
