I hate the evil Superman trend, but I at least understand it. You're using the big, iconic, basis of all Supers to try and convey a message. Even if you have nothing smart to say, it's a very suitable soapbox for projecting your voice.
What does making a pulp sci-fi hero who never had too much mainstream q into a lying weiny, supposed to accomplish?
I've only encountered Adam Strange while reading other stories with ensemble casts, but even I knew him specifically as an earthling defending a SPECIFIC planet from outside threats, so I don't even get why someone would be irritated enough at his existence that they would want to create a fictional hit piece on him.
