I don't know what it would feel like to be abused and hated by everyone your whole life, then through unusual circumstances you make friends and finally feel safe to be yourself, but then it's taken away in an instant and you realise that it was all a ruse and no one ever liked you and your prior belief that you can't trust anyone and violence is always the answer was correct, but I'm sure it's not a good feeling.
