Hospitals are now requiring ER patients to answer SOGIE questions before receiving care. What is SOGIE? It's the new name of LGBTQIA+. The medical industry has been a leader in switching to this new name.
I was recently in the ER and saw a hospital administrator go around to everyone, including myself, asking our gender identity and sexual preferences. Since we were all in beds in the hallway, there was no privacy. The woman who was asked ahead of me was in her 80s and had been in an automobile accident. She still was asked her gender identity and sexual preferences. After me was a fifteen year old girl who took it as an opportunity to put on a performance, including such gems as "I just think we should be open to love with anybody" and "They're not going to give me lesser treatment because I'm bi, are they?"
How this isn't some kind of privacy violation, especially with a minor being questioned in earshot of dozens of other people, is unclear but it's the law in my state and it's spreading around the country.
