His insecurity drives him. It is his defining characteristic and he doesn't realize it. He believes he's smarter than everyone else and that he can tell people how to think about him, not realizing that minds don't work that way. We draw conclusions about people because of their actions and what they say, and what contradictions come from that. Not what they try to get us to believe.

If he said

>I worked at blizzard. I wasn't a game dev or anything, but I learned what I could. Now I'm confident enough to try making my own game.

I'd interpret him as humble, ambitious, and secure in his shortcomings. Unfortunately, he's incapable of self reflection, so he'll never do that. I do not believe him to be a person that can change. It's too ingrained. Most people eventually give up and concede when completely turned against. He continues to double down. Good riddance.
